There are many ways you can volunteer for Hampers of Hope and Griffith Meals on Wheels.
Help Hampers of Hope by collecting groceries and packing hampers for those in need.
Like meeting new people? Griffith Meals on Wheels Volunteers are needed to delivery meals to clients each weekday. More than a meal, this also provides important social contact for our clients.
You can choose to help one or more days… every little bit helps.

Hampers of Hope - Grocery Rescue
Volunteers collect groceries from local donors and take deliver them to our office at Yambil Hub to be made into hampers.
Essential Criteria
- Ablility to drive a van
- Current drivers licence

Volunteers pack donated groceries into hampers at our offices located at Yambil Hub.

Meals on Wheels - Delivery to Clients
Griffith Meals on Wheels Volunteers deliver nutritionally balanced hot meals to clients.
Volunteers play a vital role in the delivery of meals to clients. For many of our residents, the volunteer provides important regular social contact which they otherwise may not have.
Volunteers collect meals at 11am from St Vincents Private Hospital and are given a run sheet for the deliveries.
Delivery takes around 1-2 hours.
Essential Criteria
- Ability to work with frail or older people, people with disabilities and the carers of any of these groups of people.
- Ability to understand that people live in a variety of conditions, including poverty and squalor.
- We welcome volunteers from Culturally & Linguistically Diverse backgrounds and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.
- For Drivers:
- Registered vehicle
- Current drivers licence
